Abstract:
(EN) The present invention relates to methods and compositions for providing internal identification in samples. In particular, the invention relates to methods of tracking samples using a molecular barcode made up of spike-in tags added to the sample before or during processing. The spike-in tags can be co-processed with the sample through a plurality of processing steps such that any transfer of samples to different containers or solid phases during processing also transfers the molecular barcode. Samples made up of any macromolecule (including DNA, RNA, and proteins) may be tracked. The invention further relates to a method of using a computer to determine the identity of a particular sample by comparing the profile of spike-in tags which make up the molecular barcode of the sample with a database of sample identities associated with the particular molecular barcode added. Methods of the invention can also be used in quality control applications.
(FR) La présente invention concerne des procédés et compositions permettant l'identification interne dans les échantillons. Elle concerne plus particulièrement des procédés permettant le suivi des échantillons au moyen d'un code barres moléculaire constitué d'étiquettes insérées, ajoutées à l'échantillon avant ou pendant le traitement. Les étiquettes insérées peuvent être traitées en même temps que l'échantillon sur plusieurs étapes de traitement, de manière à ce que n'importe quel transfert d'échantillons vers les récipients différents ou les phases solides pendant le traitement constitue aussi le transfert du code barres moléculaire. Les échantillons constitués de n'importe quelle macromolécule (y compris l'ADN, l'ARN et les protéines) peuvent faire l'objet d'un suivi. L'invention concerne en outre un procédé pour utiliser un ordinateur à des fins de détermination de l'identité d'un échantillon particulier par la comparaison du profil des étiquettes insérées, qui constituent le code barres de l'échantillon, avec une base de données des identités d'échantillon associées au code barre moléculaire particulier qui a été ajouté. Les procédés de l'invention peuvent aussi s'utiliser dans des applications de contrôle de la qualité.
