Abstract
(EN) The balanced bridge radar system (100) is a continuous wave radar system for detecting items that are very small. The balanced bridge radar (100) includes a microwave energy generator (102), transformer (104), a line stretcher (106), a transmitter antenna (108), a receiving antenna (110), and a mixer (112). The mixer (112) is a direct current coupled microwave mixer. The line stretcher (106) is a microwave phase shifter that can adjust the signal delay from zero to one-quarter wavelenght at the operating frequency.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil de détection radar de petites cibles lentes en la présence d'un fort écho parasite de fond comprenant une structure de pont équilibrée destinée à obtenir un équilibrage avec la cible et l'écho parasite de fond. Les signaux de retour du radar provenant des objets de fond ainsi que les cibles sont visualisés par le radar sous la forme d'un retour de signature unique composite. L'invention utilise un déphaseur pour obtenir un équilibrage même si l'écho parasite de fond comprend de nombreuses composantes à des distances variables du radar.
