Abstract:
(EN) A photostimulable material is introduced in a blood vessel or body cavity, within an animal or human body, where a radioactive agent (comprising for example beta-emitting 32P atoms) has been locally delivered and where radiation measurements have to be taken in order to control the delivery efficiency. The photostimulable material is exposed to radiation, carrying image information of the beta-emitting source of radiation, and a latent image is stored into the photostimulable material. Then the photostimulable material is exposed to stimulating light, which causes the photostimulable material to emit light in proportion of the amount of energy stored during radiation exposure, hence in proportion of the amount of radioactive agent present in the region of interest. The emitted light is collected by a light collection system and measured by a photoelectric device. Therefore, a two-dimensional image signal, representing the distribution of the radioactive agent in the blood vessel or body cavity, is obtained.
(FR) L'invention concerne un matériau photostimulable introduit dans un vaisseau sanguin ou une cavité corporelle, dans le corps d'un animal ou d'un humain, dans lequel a été délivré localement un agent radioactif (comprenant par exemple des atomes 32P émetteurs bêta) et dans lequel des mesures de rayonnement ont été prises afin de contrôler l'efficacité d'administration. Le matériau photostimulable est exposé au rayonnement, servant de support à des informations d'image de la source de rayonnement émetteur bêta, et une image latente est stockée dans le matériau photostimulable. Le matériau photostimulable est alors exposé à une lumière stimulante, le matériau photostimulable générant ainsi de la lumière proportionnellement à la quantité d'énergie stockée au cours de l'exposition au rayonnement, et donc proportionnellement à la quantité d'agent radioactif présent dans la région d'intérêt. La lumière émise est collectée par un système de collecte de lumière, et mesurée par un dispositf photoélectrique. Un signal d'image bidimensionnelle représentant la distribution de l'agent radioactif dans le vaisseau sanguin ou la cavité corporelle est ainsi obtenu.
