(EN)The present invention relates to a method for depositing a parylene polymer barrier coating on a polymeric substrate for improving the chemical resistance of the substrate. The method comprises the steps of thoroughly treating a surface portion of the substrate to remove any contaminants, depositing at least one layer of parylene polymer on the contaminant-free surface portion via chemical vapor deposition, and then annealing each of the at least one layer of parylene polymer for a sufficient time. The present invention also relates to a composition for a barrier coating on a polymeric substrate comprising at least one layer of parylene polymer bonded to the surface of the polymeric substrate. The substrate can be a silicone rubber keypad.
(FR)L'invention porte sur un procédé de dépôt d'un revêtement barrière de parylène sur un substrat de polymère pour en accroître la résistance chimique. Le procédé consiste: à traiter à fond le substrat pour en enlever tous les contaminants; à déposer par dépôt en phase vapeur au moins une couche de parylène sur la partie de la surface exempte de contaminants; et à recuire la ou les couches de parylène pendant un temps suffisant. L'invention porte également sur la composition d'un revêtement barrière déposé sur un substrat de polymère comportant au moins un couche de parylène fixée à la surface dudit substrat qui peut être un clavier de caoutchouc de silicone.
