Abstract:
(EN) The invention is related to methods and apparatus that encode (8) and decode redundant motion vectors (818) for predictive-coded visual object planes (P-VOPs) to increase the robustness of transmitted video signals. One embodiment provides the redundant motion vectors in a user data video packet of an MPEG-4 compliant bitstream, which thereby allows the enhanced bitstream to remain compliant with MPEG-4 syntax and backwards compatible with MPEG-4 decoders. One embodiment of a decoder (1306) can advantageously reconstruct a predictive-coded video object plane (P-VOP) from a standard motion vector and the previous frame; from a redundant motion vector and a frame prior to the previous frame; or from both.
(FR) L'invention concerne des procédés et appareils qui codent (8) et décodent des vecteurs de mouvement redondants (818) de plans objets visuels à codage prédictif (P-VOPs) pour augmenter la solidité des signaux vidéo. Selon un mode de réalisation, les vecteurs de mouvement redondants sont cédés dans un paquet vidéo de données utilisateur d'un train de bits conforme MPEG-4, qui permet au train de bits amélioré de rester conforme à la syntaxe MPEG-4 et d'être à comptabilité descendante avec les décodeurs MPEG-4. Selon un mode de réalisation, un décodeur (1306) peut avantageusement reconstruire un plan objet vidéo à codage prédictif (P-VOP) d'un vecteur de mouvement standard et la trame précédente d'un vecteur de mouvement redondant et d'une trame précédant la trame antérieure ou des deux.
