A device for an autonomous cleaning apparatus such as a robot vacuum cleaner. The apparatus has a chassis with a housing including a front bumper part and at least two drive wheels (12) or the like. The housing also includes an electric guidance and control system and an obstacle sensing system including the front bumper part (13). The front bumper part is movably arranged with respect to the chassis and the movement between the chassis and the front bumper part is sensed and causes a control signal to be transmitted to the guidance and control system when the front bumper part encounters and obstacle or obstruction. The guidance and control system can then maneuvrer the robot vacuum cleaner around the obstacle or obstruction.

L'invention concerne un dispositif destiné à un appareil de nettoyage autonome tel qu'un aspirateur robot. L'appareil a un châssis avec un boîtier comportant une partie frontale butoir et au moins deux roues d'entraînement (12) ou équivalent. Le boîtier comprend également un système électrique de guidage et de commande comportant une partie frontale butoir (13). La partie frontale butoir est mobile par rapport au châssis et le mouvement entre le châssis et la partie frontale butoir est détecté et génère un signal de commande transmis au système de guidage et de commande lorsque la partie frontale butoir rencontre un obstacle ou une obstruction. Le système de guidage et de commande permet alors de manoeuvrer l'aspirateur robot de manière à ce qu'il contourne l'obstacle ou l'obstruction.
