Abstract
(EN) A method for preparing a alignment layer surface provides a surface on the alignment layer. A chemically modified surfae [117] is formed as a result of quenching and/or ion beam treatment in accordance with the present invention, and reactive gas is introduced to the ion beam to saturate dangling bonds on the surface. Layer [117] is now substantially free from dangling bonds and free radicals which could degrade properties of a liquid crystal display. Now, a substrate [101] is formed for use in a liquid crystal displax device. Another method for preparing an alignment layer. The surface is bombarded with ions and quenched with a reactive component to saturate dangling bonds on the surface.
(FR) Ce procédé permettant de préparer la surface d'une couche d'alignement comprend la formation d'une surface sur la couche d'alignement. Ce procédé consiste à produire une surface (117) chimiquement modifiée par trempe et/ou un traitement par faisceau ionique, et à introduire un gaz réactif conjointement au faisceau ionique afin de saturer les liaisons pendantes et les radicaux libres qui risquent de dégrader les propriétés d'un afficheur à cristaux liquides. On obtient ainsi un substrat (101) convenant pour un afficheur à cristaux liquides. Un procédé différent de préparation de surface de couche d'alignement permet également la formation d'une surface sur une couche d'alignement. Ce procédé comprend un bombardement ionique de la surface et une trempe à l'aide d'un composant réactif destinée à saturer les liaisons pendantes présentes sur la surface.
