Abstract
(EN) AAL2 (ATM Adaptation Layer 2) paths are dynamically established and/or released in an ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) network/system. For purpose of example, during network operation a determination(s) may be made as to whether AAL2 mux (i.e., multiplexor(s) and/or demultiplexor(s)) resources are lacking and/or excessive relating to a particular AAL2 signaling relation(s). When AAL2 mux resources are determined as lacking for the AAL2 signaling relation, then at least one AAL2 mux (40, 40a, 40b) is added to the relation. However, when AAL2 mux resources are determined as excessive for the AAL2 signaling relation, then at least one AAL2 mux is removed or dropped from the relation. AAL2 paths may be selectively and dynamically added and/or dropped from an AAL2 signaling relation in response to the above determinations. In such a manner, ATM resources can be preserved and not wasted thereby resulting in a more efficient ATM AAL2 system/network.
(FR) Des chemins AAL2 (couche numéro 2 d'adaptation MTA) sont dynamiquement établis et/ou libérés dans un réseau/système MTA (mode de transfert asynchrone). A titre d'exemple, une ou plusieurs évaluations peuvent être effectuées au cours de l'exploitation du réseau afin de déterminer si les ressources de multiplexage AAL2 (c'est-à-dire le ou les multiplexeurs et/ou le ou les démultiplexeurs) sont en nombre insuffisant et/ou excédentaire relativement à une ou plusieurs relations particulières de signalisation AAL2. Lorsque les ressources de multiplexage AAL2 sont évaluées comme étant en nombre insuffisant pour la relation de signalisation AAL2, alors au moins un multiplexeur AAL2 (40, 40a, 40b) est ajouté à la relation. Par contre, lorsque les ressources de multiplexage AAL2 sont déterminées comme étant en nombre excédentaire pour la relation de signalisation AAL2, alors au moins un multiplexeur AAL2 est supprimé ou abandonné dans la relation. Les chemins AAL2 peuvent être sélectivement et dynamiquement ajoutés et/ou abandonnés dans une relation de signalisation AAL2 en fonction des déterminations ci-dessus. De cette manière, les ressources MTA peuvent être sauvegardées et non gaspillées, ce qui se traduit par une efficacité accrue du système/réseau AAL2 MTA.
