A method for multiplexed detection and quantification of analytes by reacting them with probe molecules attached to specific and identifiable carriers. these carriers can be of different size, shape, color, and composition. Different probe molecules are attached to different types of carriers prior to analysis. After the reaction takes place, the carriers can be automatically analyzed. This invention obviates cumbersome instruments used for the deposition of probe molecules in geometrically defined arrays. In the present invention the analytes are identified by their association with the defined carrier, and not (or not only) by their position. Moreover, the use of carriers provides a more homogenous and reproducible representation for probe molecules and reaction products than two-dimensional imprinted arrays or DNA chips.

L'invention porte sur un procédé de détection et quantification d'analytes en les faisant réagir avec des molécules sondes liées à des porteurs spécifiques et identifiables, lesdits porteurs pouvant être de différentes taille, forme, couleur et composition. Avant l'analyse différents types de porteurs sont liés à différents types de porteurs; après la réaction, les porteurs sont automatiquement analysés. L'invention se passe des instruments compliqués utilisés pour le dépôt de molécules sondes dans des matrices géométriquement définies. Dans l'invention les analytes s'identifient par leur association avec des porteurs définis, et non (pas seulement) par leur position. De plus, l'utilisation de porteurs fournit une représentation plus homogène et reproductible des molécules sondes et des produits de réaction que les matrices imprimée en 2 D ou les biopuces.
