Damit bei einer Einrichtung (10) zur Übertragung optischer Signale mit einem Wellenleiter (4, 5, 6) mit einem dotierten Bereich, welcher ein Material umfaßt, das zur Verstärkung optischer Signale geeignet ist, die Signalqualität beim Durchlaufen dieser Einrichtung möglichst wenig verschlechtert wird, ist vorgesehen, daß der dotierte Bereich eine vordefinierte Absorption aufweist und durch Einstrahlung von Pumplicht (7, 8, 9) in dessen Verstärkung änderbar ist.

La présente invention concerne un dispositif permettant de transmettre des signaux optiques. Ce dispositif comprend un guide d'ondes présentant une zone dopée pourvue d'un matériau adapté à l'amplification de signaux optiques. L'objectif de la présente invention est que la qualité du signal se dégrade le moins possible en traversant ce dispositif. A cette fin, la zone dopée présente un pouvoir d'absorption prédéfini et son amplification peut être modifiée par irradiation de lumière de pompage.
