(EN)A dome-like structure is disclosed which is non-circular in plan, the structure being formed of a plurality of substantially straight-edged panels, (25-36). At each of a plurality of horizontal levels in the structure the edges of the panels each extend between a respective pair of points (47, 48, 52, 54) on a notional envelope of the structure. The structure is so designed that, at each said level, the points (47, 48, 52) do not all lie upon a common circle, but that for each set of three adjacent horizontally spaced said points, either: a) all three (48) are at equal radii from a point in the same plane, or b) two adjacent ones (48, 47) of the three points are at a first equal radial distance (Radius 1) from a point (CP-1) in said plane and the remaining point (54) is at the same distance (Radius 2) as the adjoining point (47) of said set from a point (CP-2) on a radius from the point (CP-1) to said adjoining point (47).
(FR)L'invention concerne une structure en dôme non circulaire dans le plan, formée de plusieurs panneaux (25-36) aux bords sensiblement droits. A chaque niveau horizontal de la structure, les bords des panneaux s'étendent chacun respectivement entre une paire de points (47, 48, 52, 54) sur une enveloppe théorique de la structure. La structure est conçue de manière qu'à chaque niveau, les points (47, 48, 52) ne reposent pas tous sur un cercle commun, mais pour chaque ensemble de trois points adjacents espacés horizontalement, soit a) tous les trois (48) se situent sur des rayons égaux d'un point sur le même plan, soit b) deux points adjacents (48, 47) des trois points se situent à une première distance radiale égale (Rayon 1) d'un point (CP-1) dudit plan et le point restant (54) se situe à la même distance (Rayon 2) que le point adjacent (47) dudit ensemble d'un point (CP-2) sur un rayon du point (CP-1) audit point adjacent (47).
