(EN)Oestrone sulphate (OS) is determined to establish the litter size in farm animals. A dip-stick on which a monclonal antibody of oestrone sulphate had been coated onto uniform blue polystyrene microspheres, is placed in blood serum solution for 15 to 20 minutes. A faint blue dot where the OS serum had been placed is an indication of pregnancy. The faintness of the blue dot and therefore concentration of OS is taken as an indication of litter size. The dipstrick is a faster and simpler way of measuring serum OS. A method determining pregnancy and apparatus for same are the subject matter of the claims.
(FR)Selon l'invention, la détermination du sulfate d'oestrone (OS) permet d'établir la taille d'une portée chez des animaux d'élevage. Une bandelette sur laquelle des microsphères en polystyrène d'un bleu uniforme sont recouvertes d'un anticorps monoclonal de sulfate d'oestrone est placée dans une solution de sérum sanguin pendant 15 à 20 minutes. Un point de coloration bleue pale où l'OS du sérum s'est fixé représente une indication de grossesse. La faiblesse de la coloration du point bleu et donc de la concentration en OS peut être prise comme une indication de la taille de portée. La bandelette représente un moyen simple et rapide de mesurer l'OS du sérum. L'invention concerne aussi un procédé de détermination de grossesse ainsi qu'un appareil associé.
