A system which enables a change in the operating frequency and the power source voltage of a processor by the control of an operating system makes the operating frequency of a processor necessary to process a started periodical real-time task and non-real-time task without delays vary adaptively, and an optimal power source voltage for a processor determined according to the operating frequency switching time by time. This results in a reduction in power consumption by the processor while responding to with the real-time requests of application software.

Cette invention concerne un système permettant de changer la fréquence de fonctionnement et la tension d'alimentation d'un processeur par gestion d'un système d'exploitation de manière à faire de façon adaptative la tension de fonctionnement d'un processeur nécessaire pour traiter sans retard une tâche périodique en temps réel et un tâche qui n'est pas en temps réel, ainsi qu'une tension source optimale pour un processeur déterminée par la fréquence de commutation au coup par coup. Il est ainsi possible de réduire la consommation d'énergie du processeur tout en répondant en temps réel aux demandes du logiciel d'application.
