Novel styryl compounds represented by the general formula (1) or (2); and an organic electroluminescent device with an organic compound film comprising at least a light emitting layer, wherein a novel styryl compound described above is contained in at least one layer constituting the film: (1) (2) (wherein R1 to R10 are each independently hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxy, aryl, aryloxy, a fused polycyclic group, a heterocyclic group, amino, alkylamino, arylamino, cyano, nitro, hydroxyl, or halogeno, or alternatively any adjacent two of R1 to R10 may be united to form a saturated or unsaturated carbon ring; and A, B, C, D, A', B', C' and D' are each independently a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl or aryl group having a specific structure). The invention provides organic electroluminescent devices exhibiting high heat resistance, high light emitting efficiency, long lifetime and high blue color purity, and novel styryl compounds capable of realizing such electroluminescent devices.

Nouveaux composés de styryle de formule générale (1) ou (2), et dispositif électroluminescent organique doté d'un film composite organique comportant au moins une couche émettrice de lumière, un nouveau composé de styryle selon la présente invention étant contenu dans au moins une couche constituant le film. Dans les formules (1) et (2), R1 à R10 représentent chacun indépendamment hydrogène, alkyle, alcoxy, aryle, aryloxy, un groupe polycyclique fusionné, un groupe hétérocyclique, amino, alkylamino, arylamino, cyano, nitro, hydroxyle ou halogéno, ou alternativement deux éléments adjacents quelconques de la suite R1 à R10 peuvent être unis pour former un noyau carbone saturé ou insaturé, et A, B, C, D, A', B', C' et D' représentent chacun indépendamment un groupe alkyle ou aryle substitué ou non substitué ayant une structure spécifique. La présente invention concerne également des dispositifs électroluminescents organiques présentant une grande résistance à la chaleur, une haute efficacité d'émission de lumière, une longue durée de vie et une grande pureté de la couleur bleu, ainsi que de nouveaux composés de styryle appropriés pour être utilisés dans ces dispositifs électroluminescents.
