Abstract

Method for wireless video communication using a high data rate packet data service and mobility management. In one embodiment mobile users (MS1 4, MS2 14, MS3 24) transact a video conference call sending the real-time data in packetized format. Mobility management allows location of each user according to an Internet Protocol (IP). In one embodiment, each mobile user communicates through a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) type server (SIP1 108, SIP2 118, SIP3 128), which allows a mobile station to be located as it roams outside of its home network. The home SIP server provides a new SIP server location when a user moves outside of the home network (105, 115, 125). In an alternate embodiment, the users employ a Mobile-IP service, allowing each to have a persistent IP address, where mobility management functions inform a home agent (PDSN1 8, PDSN2 18, PDSN3 28) of the mobile user's location.

L'invention concerne un procédé de communication vidéo sans fil faisant appel à une gestion de service et de mobilité de données en paquet à débit de données élevé. Dans un mode de réalisation, des utilisateurs mobiles (MS1 4, MS2 14, MS3 24) établissent une vidéoconférence par téléphone qui permet d'envoyer des données en temps réel en format paquetisé. La gestion de mobilité permet de localiser chaque utilisateur selon un Protocole Internet (IP). Dans un mode de réalisation, chaque utilisateur mobile communique par l'intermédiaire d'un serveur (SIP1 108, SIP2 118, SIP3 128) de type Protocole d'Initialisation de Session (SIP) permettant à une station mobile d'être localisée pendant son itinérance à l'extérieur de son réseau domestique. Ce serveur SIP domestique permet d'obtenir une nouvelle localisation de serveur SIP lorsqu'un utilisateur se déplace à l'extérieur du réseau domestique (105, 115, 125). Dans un autre mode de réalisation, les utilisateurs emploient un service IP-Mobile permettant à chacun d'obtenir une adresse IP persistante, des fonctions de gestion de mobilité permettant d'informer un agent domestique (PDSN1 8, PDSN2 18, PDSN3 28) sur la localisation de l'utilisateur mobile.
