Gas bearing for use in rolls (1) and rollers having a shaft (2) and a rotating envelope part (3) supported by bearings on the shaft, said bearing comprising an inner part fitted to the shaft (2) and an outer part fitted to the envelope (3), with a clearance (6) between the inner and outer parts, into which clearance a gas used for lubrication is supplied via nozzles (20) or a porous material. The inner part fitted on the outer surface of the shaft of the roll or roller consists of separate detachable sleeves or segments forming an inner ring (127), that the outer part rotating around the inner ring and having a cylindrical inner surface or consisting of cylindrical segments forms an outer ring (125), and that the inner and outer rings are attached via flexible or articulated joints to the shaft and the rotating envelope so that they allow the inner and outer rings to adapt to a common axis of rotation formed by the shaft and the envelope.

La présente invention concerne un palier à gaz utilisable dans des rouleaux (1) et des galets présentant un arbre (2) et une portion d'enveloppe rotative (3) portée par des paliers sur l'arbre, ledit palier comportant une partie interne fixée à l'arbre (2) et une partie externe fixée à l'enveloppe (3), laissant un intervalle (6) entre les parties internes et externes, dans lequel intervalle un gaz destiné à la lubrification est alimenté à travers des buses (20) ou d'un matériau poreux. L'invention se caractérise en ce que la partie interne fixée sur la face externe de l'arbre du rouleau ou du galet est constituée de manchons distincts et amovibles ou de segments formant un anneau intérieur (17), et que la partie externe en rotation autour de l'anneau intérieur et présentant une surface interne de forme cylindrique ou constitué de segments de forme cylindrique forme un anneau extérieur (15), et en ce que les anneaux intérieur et extérieur sont attachés via des joints souples ou articulés à l'arbre et l'enveloppe rotative de manière a permettre les anneaux intérieur et extérieur a s'adapter à un même axe de rotation constitué par l'arbre et l'enveloppe.
