Abstract
(EN) A production swivel (10) with passive control of dynamic seal gap (66) width using internal swivel pressure. The swivel (10) includes inner and outer housings (16, 12) with a middle housing (17) which transfers component deformation due to fluid pressure from the dynamic sealing interface (64) to the static sealing interface (65). The outer housing and inner housing (16, 12) rotate together, but the outer housing (12) is free to expand radially outward from the middle housing (17) with increasing fluid pressure. A floating riser spool (60A) is pressure balanced at the connection to the inner housing (16) and to a fixed swivel stack base (54). Swivels (10a, 10B) are stacked with a swivel connector/spool (52) and upper and lower mounting rings (46, 48) cooperatively dimensioned so that access to seals (63, 64) can be obtained while the swivels (10a, 10b) remained stacked without the use of overhead cranes or other lifting points than the swivel being serviced.
(FR) L'invention concerne un pivot de production qui exploite la pression interne du pivot pour contrôler passivement la largeur du joint d'étanchéité dynamique. Le pivot comprend un boîtier intérieur et un boîtier extérieur, ainsi qu'un un boîtier intermédiaire qui transfère la déformation de la pièce due à la pression hydraulique exercée par l'interface d'étanchéité dynamique sur l'interface d'étanchéité statique. Le boîtier extérieur et le boîtier intérieur pivotent de concert, le boîtier extérieur ayant cependant une liberté de mouvement qui lui permet de s'étendre radialement vers l'extérieur, à partir du boîtier intermédiaire, avec une pression hydraulique accrue. Un corps de tube flottant est équilibré par pression, au point de jonction, relativement au boîtier intérieur et à un socle d'empilement de pivots fixe. Les pivots sont empilés au moyen d'un connecteur/corps pivotant et d'anneaux de montage supérieur et inférieur dimensionnés de manière à coopérer afin que l'accès aux joints d'étanchéité soit possible pendant que le pivots restent empilés, sans nécessité d'utiliser des ponts roulants ou des points de levage autres que le pivot en service.
