Abstract
(EN) A liquid crystal display and a method for driving the same, by which reverse transition in an OCB cell can be suppressed and a good image can be displayed. One frame period comprises a first period P1 for which a signal initializing the state of the liquid crystal is written in a pixel cell, and a second period P2 for which image data corresponding to a video signal is written in the pixel cell, and the first period includes a Vsup hold period during which each pixel cell holds a potential Vsup having a higher level applied to each pixel cell higher than that of second period.
(FR) L'invention porte sur un affichage à cristaux liquides et sur son procédé de commande selon lequel il est possible de supprimer la transition inverse dans une cellule OCB et d'afficher une bonne image. Une période de trame comprend une première période P1 pour laquelle un signal initialisant l'état des cristaux liquides est enregistré dans une cellule de pixel, et une seconde période P2 pour laquelle des données d'image correspondant à un signal vidéo sont enregistrées dans la cellule de pixel. La première période comprend une période de retenue Vsup durant laquelle chaque cellule de pixel garde un potentiel Vsup de niveau supérieur appliqué à chaque cellule de pixel supérieure à celle de la seconde période.
