(EN)The capacity of a Mode-S ADS-B surveillance radar system is increased by sectorizing the radar system by the use of a directional array of Mode-S, quarter wavelength, single element, stub antennas. The ensemble of signals from the array of Mode-S antenna elements is processed electronically. The signal processing/receiver architecture increases the capacity of the Mode-S ADS-B system to be capable of effectively functioning within a highly congested airspace.
(FR)Ce système permet d'augmenter la capacité d'un système de radar de surveillance ADS-B en mode S grâce à une sectorisation du système radar au moyen d'un réseau directionnel d'antennes courtes, à un seul élément, en quart d'onde. L'ensemble de signaux émis par le réseau d'éléments d'antenne en mode S est traité électroniquement. Cette architecture de traitement/réception augmente la capacité du système ADS-B en mode S de manière à le rendre capable d'un fonctionnement efficace dans un espace aérien très encombré.
