Abstract:
(EN) The present invention converts a wide-angle lens image (2) into a two-dimensional view with reduced distortion and warping for use in an immersive environment. A program uses lens parameters (12) to call up the desired shape (14) of the wide-angle lens, copies and scales the shape (16), and subtracts a copy of the original shape (18). A user can then manipulate the hollow shape (20) in order to conform to the lesn. Then the image is dithered (26) and the image is maped to the lens matching shape (28). Viewing positions (30) and zoom functions (32) are updated and the image is sent to a viewer to be viewed by the user (34). Portions of the entire image can be viewed at any one time.
(FR) La présente invention permet de prendre une image de grand angulaire et de la convertir en une image bidimensionnelle à faible distorsion et faible gauchissement. A cet effet, pour créer une forme via un logiciel de type CAO, on réalise une soustraction booléenne de deux formes homothétiques de dimensions légèrement différentes, ce qui aboutit à un squelette fil de fer allant de l'hémisphérique au sphérique. Ce squelette fil de fer est amené dans le logiciel de type CAO de façon à créer une forme qui mime celle de l'optique d'observation ou d'enregistrement. On vient appliquer une image sur la forme. Des parties ou la totalité de l'image sont observables à n'importe quel instant. L'utilisation de matériels d'accélération permet des débits d'affichage pouvant atteindre les 60 images par seconde.
