(EN)The present invention features methods of inhibiting tumor growth and/or tumor metastasis in a subject, and methods of treating cancer and/or increasing survival of a subject with a tumor, by inhibiting MCP-1 activity in the subject. The present invention also features methods of identifying a compound that inhibits tumor growth or metastasis, by exposing a sample including an MCP-1 polypeptide, an MCP-1 nucleic acid, an MCP-1 receptor polypeptide, or an MCP-1 receptor nucleic acid to a test compound, and detecting a decrease in MCP-1 activity in the sample, wherein a decrease in MCP-1 activity in the sample identifies a compound that inhibits tumor growth or tumor metastasis.
(FR)La présente invention concerne des méthodes permettant d'inhiber la croissance tumorale et/ou la métastase tumorale chez un sujet, ainsi que des méthodes destinées au traitement du cancer et/ou à prolonger la survie d'un patient atteint d'une tumeur, ces méthodes consistant à inhiber l'activité de MCP-1 chez un sujet. La présente invention concerne également des méthodes destinées à l'identification d'un composé permettant d'inhiber la croissance tumorale ou la métastase tumorale, consistant à exposer un échantillon renfermant un polypeptide de MCP-1, un acide nucléique de MCP-1, un polypeptide récepteur de MCP-1, ou un acide nucléique récepteur de MCP-1 pour tester le composé, et à détecter l'augmentation de l'activité de MCP-1 dans l'échantillon, une baisse de l'activité de MCP-1 dans l'échantillon permettant d'identifier un composé inhibant la croissance tumorale ou la métastase tumorale.
