What is Claimed is:

1. A communication system, comprising:

a plurality of information processing devices capable of interconnection to exchange information;

a transmission medium including at least one coaxial wire, capable of carrying TV signals; and

at least one communication device, connected to the transmission medium, operative to interconnect the information processing devices.

2. The communication system of claim 1, wherein said devices form a home network.

3. The communication system of claim 2, wherein the network employs a specific frequency range that is not used by other signals transferred over the transmission medium.

4. The communication system of claim 2, wherein the network uses a frequency range above 550 MHz.

5. The communication system of claim 4 wherein the frequency range is reusable in different networks.

6. The communication system of claims 2, wherein said network uses QPSK or QAM modulation.

7. The communication system of claim 2, wherein said network uses channel allocation according to FDM method.

8. The communication system of to claim 5, wherein each home network has its own data rate.

9. The communication system of claim 5, wherein each home network uses its own frequency range.

10. The communication system of claim 2, wherein the network uses bridge or routing protocols selected from the group of IEEE 1394, USB, and/or Ethernet protocols.

11. The communication system of claim 10, wherein the bridge function employs a single channel for the two directions or a specific channel for each direction.

12. The communication system of claim 1, wherein a received signal is a reflection of the transmitted signal from either a passive element or an active element.

13. The communication system according to claim 12, wherein the element is a passive splitter.

14. The communication system according to claim 12, wherein the element is a notch filter.

15. The communication system according to claim 12, wherein the element is a transponder which converts the signals in an input band to signals in another output band.
