Abstract
(EN) The present invention relates to methods and apparatus for ascertain time and date in a telecommunications system, which comprises a mobile equipment (2), a management system (20) and an add-on accessory (1), connected physically or by wireless connection to the mobile equipment (2). The add-on accessory (1) needs to know the current time and date for different reasons. This information is retrieved either from the mobile equipment (2) or from a real-time clock built into the add-on accessory (1). Since the clock may slow over time and can additionally be set to an incorrect value by the user, the clock is compared to the time and date of the management system (20) at a regular basis to ensure correct operation. Clock information is sent using the Short Message Service (SMS) of a mobile network (25). In order to accommodate varying delays experienced when sending and receiving SMS messages, the updating procedure is further refined.
(FR) La présente invention concerne des procédés et appareils permettant de vérifier l'heure et la date dans un système de télécommunication, qui comprend un équipement mobile (2), un système de gestion (20) et un accessoire additionnel (1) qui est connecté physiquement ou par liaison radio à l'équipement mobile (2). Pour différentes raisons, l'accessoire additionnel (1) a besoin de connaître l'heure et la date actuelles. Cette information est extraite soit de l'équipement mobile (2) soit d'une horloge temps réel intégrée à l'accessoire additionnel (1). Puisque l'horloge peut ralentir avec le temps et peut en outre être réglée à une valeur incorrecte par l'utilisateur, l'horloge est comparée à l'heure et la date du système de gestion (20) régulièrement pour garantir un fonctionnement correct. Des données horloge sont envoyées à l'aide d'un service d'envoi de messages courts (SMS) d'un réseau mobile (25). Afin de prendre en charge des délais variables rencontrés lors de l'envoi et de la réception de messages SMS, la procédure de remise à jour est affinée.
