A method for scrubbing and passivating an anode plate (100) of a field emission display (120) includes the steps of providing a scrubbing passivation material (127); imparting to scrubbing passivation material (127) an energy selected to cause removal of a contamination layer (123, 117) from anode plate (100); causing scrubbing passivation material (127) to be received by contamination layer (123, 117), thereby removing contamination layer (123, 117); and depositing at least a portion of scrubbing passivation material (127) on anode plate (100), thereby forming a passivation layer (129).

L'invention concerne un procédé d'épuration et de passivation d'une plaque d'anode (100) d'un affichage à émission de champ (120) qui consiste à mettre en oeuvre un matériau d'épuration passivation (127), à apporter à ce matériau (127) une énergie nécessaire à l'enlèvement d'une couche de contamination (123, 117) de la plaque d'anode (100), à faire atteindre au matériau d'épuration passivation (127) la couche de contamination (123, 117), ce qui permet l'élimination de cette couche (123, 117), et à déposer, sur la plaque d'anode (100), au moins une partie du matériau d'épuration passivation (127) ce qui permet d'obtenir une couche de passivation (129).
