Abstract
(EN)
A virtual reality testdrive system (1) comprises a control means (2) with an associated memory (3), the control means (2) being programmed for making contact with a distant server computer (5) through a network (4), particularly an Intranet or the Internet. The system (1) comprises further a vehicle unit (10) with vehicle steering means (12), accelerator means (13), brake means (14), and gear select means (15), all providing user signals to the control means (2). The system further comprises a visual image display means (40) in a helmet (41) or the like, for displaying visual images in accordance to image signals generated by the control means. The control means (2) is adapted to generate support movement control signals, steering movement control signals, accelerator movement control signals, brake movement control signals, and image signals, on the basis of data and/or software resident in said distant server computer (5) or downloaded from said distant server computer (5) into said memory (3).

La présente invention concerne un système virtuel d'essai de conduite (1) qui comprend un moyen de commande (2) à mémoire associée (3), lequel moyen de commande (2) est programmé pour entrer en contact avec un ordinateur serveur éloigné (5) via un réseau (4), en particulier un réseau Intranet ou Internet. Le système de l'invention (1) comprend en outre une unité véhicule (10) comportant un moyen de guidage de véhicule (12), un moyen accélérateur (13), un moyen de freinage (14) et un moyen de sélection de vitesse (15), qui fournissent tous des signaux utilisateur au moyen de commande (2). Le système comprend également un moyen d'affichage d'image virtuelle (40) dans un casque (41) ou analogue, qui permet d'afficher des images visuelles conformes aux signaux d'image produits par le moyen de commande. Le moyen de commande (2) est apte à produire des signaux de commande de mouvement de soutien, des signaux de commande de mouvement de freinage et des signaux d'image sur la base des données et/ou du logiciel résidant sur l'ordinateur serveur éloigné précité (5) ou téléchargés dans la mémoire (3) depuis l'ordinateur précité (5).
