A color measurement instrument such as a reflection densitometer or a spectral reflectometer is fitted with an asymmetric tapered sample area optical enclosure (101) to allow an improved operator sight line (300) to the sample target area (210) and allow ease of placement on the sample target, while allowing for the standard 45° illumination/90° measurement geometry. The disclosed structure is particularly suitable for use as a hand-held instrument (100).

L'invention concerne un instrument de mesure de couleur, tel qu'un densitomètre à réflexion ou un réflectomètre spectral, adapté à une enceinte optique (101) à zone d'examen d'échantillon asymétrique conique, permettant à un opérateur d'avoir une ligne de vision (300) améliorée vers la zone d'échantillon cible, et facilitant le placement sur ladite zone d'échantillon cible, tout en formant des angles standards d'éclairage de 45° et de mesure de géométrie de 90°. La structure convient particulièrement pour être utilisée comme instrument portable (100).
