Abstract
(EN) A pressure relief device for preventing over pressurization of a propeller hub is disclosed. The pressure relief device is designed to fit within a ball hole opening in the hub arm of the hub. The pressure relief device includes a housing (12) which sealably interfaces with an inner wall of the ball hole opening and a pressure relief insert (14) which sealably interfaces with the housing. The pressure relief device includes a plurality of fracture tabs (36) which engage an end of the housing exposed to hub cavity pressure. The fracture tabs are designed to break at a design pressure allowing the pressure relief insert to be forced out of the housing thus breaking the seal between the pressure relief insert and housing thereby venting the hub cavity.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un dispositif de protection contre la surpression qui permet d'empêcher la surpression d'un moyeu d'hélice. Ledit dispositif, conçu pour être placé dans une ouverture de trou de bille dans le bras du moyeu, comprend un logement (12) qui forme une interface étanche avec une paroi intérieure de ladite ouverture et un insert (14) de limitation de pression qui forme une interface étanche avec le logement. Ledit dispositif comporte notamment plusieurs pattes de fracture (36) en prise avec une extrémité du logement exposée à la pression de la cavité du moyeu. Lesdites pattes sont conçues pour se rompre à une pression nominale, ce qui permet de forcer l'insert de limitation de pression de sortir du logement et de rompre le joint entre lesdits insert et logement, et la décompression de la cavité du moyeu est ainsi réalisée.
