Abstract:
(EN) The inventive display element comprises two parallel plates one of which (facing the observer) is transparent. The space between the plates is filled with a liquid painting layer. In said layer a film-type movable electrode of a contrasting color in relation to the layer color is placed in parallel to said plates. When the movable electrode approaches the surface of the transparent plate the liquid painting layer is pushed outwards and the observer sees the color of the electrode. When the film-type electrode moves to the opposite plate the liquid painting layer moves back to the visible surface and the observer sees the color of the liquid painting layer.
(FR) L'invention porte sur un élément de dispositif d'affichage qui comprend deux plaques parallèles dont l'une (orientée vers l'utilisateur) est transparente. L'espace entre les plaques est rempli d'une peinture liquide. Dans la peinture, parallèlement aux plaques, est disposée une électrode mobile de type film dont la couleur contraste avec celle de la peinture. Lorsque l'électrode mobile s'approche de la surface de la plaque transparente, la peinture est repoussée et l'observateur peut voir la couleur de l'électrode. Lorsque l'électrode de type film se déplace vers la plaque opposée, la peinture revient vers la surface visible, et l'observateur peut voir la couleur de la peinture.
