Abstract:
(EN) A fast hardening clear coating composition for repairing a clearcoat/colorcoat finish of a vehicle, which composition is capable of being wet sanded, buffed or polished to a high gloss finish on the same day of application, comprising a film forming binder and an organic liquid carrier, where the binder contains a hydroxyl component comprising a hydroxyl-containing acrylic polymer and a hydroxyl-terminated polyester oligomer, and an organic polyisocyanate crosslinking component, at least portion of which comprises a trimer of isophorone diisocyanate, where the composition further contains, as a combined curing catalyst, at least one dialkyl tin aliphatic carboxylate, at least one tertiary aliphatic mono or diamine, and at least one aliphatic carboxylic acid, in an effective amount such that the clear coating composition on curing at ambient temperatures is in a water spot free and sufficiently hard state for sanding or buffing within about 4 hours after application or on cool down when baked under normal conditions.
(FR) L'invention concerne une composition de couche de finition transparente à durcissement rapide destinée à réparer une couche de finition transparente ou colorée d'un véhicule. On peut polir, émeuler ou poncer au lapidaire, à l'humide, cette composition pour obtenir un fini très brillant, le jour même de son application. Cette composition comprend un liant formant un film et un véhicule liquide organique, le liant contenant un composant hydroxy renfermant lui-même un polymère acrylique à base d'hydroxy et un oligomère de polyester à terminaison hydroxy, et un composant de réticulation de polyisocyanate organique, au moins une partie de ce composant comprenant un trimère d'isophorone diisocyanate. Cette composition comprend, en outre, comme catalyseur de durcissement combiné, au moins un carboxylate aliphatique d'étain dialkyle, au moins une diamine ou monodiamine tertiaire aliphatique, et au moins un acide aliphatique carboxylique, en quantité suffisante afin que la composition de la couche de finition transparente séchée à température ambiante soit dépourvue de tâches d'eau et suffisamment dure pour la poncer au lapidaire ou l'émeuler environ quatre heures après son application ou lors de son refroidissement lorsque la couche est cuite dans des conditions normales.
