Abstract:
(EN) An apparatus and method is disclosed for reducing the level of power consumption in an electronic device (100) when the electronic device is operating in a standby mode or low-power mode. The level of power consumption is reduced by alternatively shutting off standby power and turning on standby power to the electronic device. A standby cycle timer circuit (300) is provided for automatically controlling the supply of standby power to the electronic device during standby mode. The standby cycle timer circuit becomes inactive when the electronic device resumes normal operation.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un appareil et un procédé permettant de réduire le niveau de consommation d'énergie d'un dispositif électronique (100) lorsque celui-ci fonctionne en mode veille ou mode de faible consommation d'énergie. On réduit le niveau de consommation d'énergie en fermant et en ouvrant alternativement l'alimentation en énergie de veille du dispositif électronique. Un circuit temporisateur de cycles de veille (300) permet de régler automatiquement l'alimentation en énergie de veille du dispositif électronique lorsque ce dernier se trouve en mode veille. Le circuit temporisateur de cycles de veille est désactivé lorsque le dispositif électronique reprend son fonctionnement normal.
