Title: METHOD FOR DETECTING NOXIOUS SUBSTANCES USING PLANT CELL SUSPENSIONS
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for detecting heavy metals and/or organic noxious substances in a test solution e.g. a soil solution or water sample using plant cell suspension cultures, in particular using cell suspension cultures of gymnosperms such as, for example, Picea abies. The inventive method comprises the following steps: a)addition of a test solution to a plant cell suspension culture, b) incubation of the cell suspension culture and c) determination of the H2O2 content, determination of the GSH (glutathione, reduced)/GSSG (glutathione, oxidized) content and glutathione S-transferase activity.
