Abstract:
(EN) A combined process of electrolytic polishing and abrasive super-finishing of metal surface, provides a method of super-finishing that yield a uniform and smoother finish of as low as less than 7 Å, more planar and atomically cleaner finish and at a higher process efficiency. The workpiece (7, 7a) is sandwiched between two polishing pads (3, 4) or texturing pads (14, 15); the workpiece (7, 7a) is connected to the anode; the cathodes (10, 10a) are located in the radial slots in the finishing wheels (1, 2, 12, 13); the electrolytic solution (9, 9a) is continuously supplied to the finishing wheel surface and filled the cathode gaps between the cathode and workpiece surface, thus allowing a current to flow through the metallic surface of the workpiece to the cathode and, thereby, conducts electrolytic polishing in conjunction with abrasive super-finishing. A switch (11), at the cathode side, controls the current flow from side to side of the workpiece periodically to ensure uniform processing on both sides of the workpiece.
(FR) Cette invention a trait à une technique combinée de polissage électrolytique et d'ultra-finition par abrasion d'une surface métallique. Cette technique, plus efficace, permet d'obtenir un fini lisse et d'une uniformité ne dépassant pas 7 Å, plus plat et mieux purifié au plan atomique. La pièce à usiner (7, 7a) est prise en sandwich entre deux tampons de polissage (3, 4) ou de texturation (14, 15). Cette pièce est connectée à une anode. Les cathodes (10, 10a) se trouvent dans des encoches radiales des meules de finissage (1, 2, 12, 13). La solution électrolytique alimente sans interruption la surface des roues de finissage et remplit les espaces existant entre la cathode et la surface de la pièce à usiner, ce qui permet au courant de passer de la surface métallique à la cathode et, partant, de réaliser un polissage électrolytique en même temps qu'une ultra-finition par abrasion. Un commutateur (11), du côté de la cathode, commande périodiquement le flux de courant de part et d'autre de la pièce afin d'assurer un usinage uniforme des deux faces de la pièce.
