Abstract:
(EN) A method and system for digital video noise reduction which includes a picture analyser (103) for analysing pictures in a video sequence to determine the amount of moving regions therein, a noise level detector (102) for estimating the noise level (N) in the video sequence, a filtering level estimator (105, 103) for determining a maximum filtering level (L) for each picture based on the amount of moving regions and the estimated noise level (N) and a spatial filter (106) and a temporal filter (107), the temporal filter being coupled to the filter level estimator for controlling the level of filtering of each picture in the sequence in accordance with the maximum filtering level.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé et un système de réduction du bruit vidéo numérique, dans lesquels sont utilisés: un analyseur d'images (103) pour l'analyse des images dans une séquence vidéo, de manière que la quantité de régions mouvantes dans cette dernière soit déterminée; un détecteur de niveau de bruit (102) pour l'estimation du niveau de bruit (N) dans la séquence vidéo; un estimateur de niveau de filtrage (105, 103) pour la détermination d'un niveau de filtrage maximum (L) pour chaque image, en fonction de la quantité de zones mouvantes et du niveau de bruit estimé (N); un filtre spatial (106) et un filtre temporel (107) couplé à l'estimateur de niveau de filtrage, pour la modulation du niveau de filtrage pour chaque image de la séquence, en fonction du niveau de filtrage maximum.
