(EN)A cavity filter (8) includes a cavity (10) constituting an electrically conductive enclosure (12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22), at least one resonator element (24-1,...24-n) constructed from a dielectric material, and a support (30) constructed from a relatively low loss dielectric support material for supporting the at least one resonator element (24-1,...24-n) in a desired orientation in the cavity (10). The support material has substantially higher thermal conductivity than the dielectric material.
