Abstract:
(EN) A method and system is disclosed for communicating with a mobile station in a mobile telecommunications system utilizing a packet technology. The system includes a mobile switching center (MSC), a base station controller (BSC) and at least one radio base station (RBS) in communication with the MSC and BSC. The RBS includes a packet device for converting voice signals received from a mobile station into packet signals and transmitting the packet signals to a destination device based upon destination information provided by the MSC. The RBS also receives packet signals intended for communication with the mobile station, converts the packet signals by the packet device and sends the converted signals to the mobile station over the air interface.
(FR) Cette invention se rapporte à un procédé et à un système servant à communiquer avec une station mobile dans un système de télécommunications mobiles, en utilisant la technologie de transmission par paquets. Ce système comprend un centre de commutation mobile (MSC), un contrôleur de station de base (BSC) et au moins une station de base radio (RBS) en communication avec le MSC et le BSC. La station RBS comprend un dispositif de transmission par paquets servant à convertir les signaux vocaux reçus en provenant d'une station mobile en signaux par paquets et à transmettre ces signaux par paquets à un dispositif de destination sur la base des informations de destination fournies par le MSC.
