Abstract:
(EN) A method of bonding a rubber substrate to an epoxy resin based substrate which is particularly suitable for constructing selected components of rocket motors such as motor cases. The subject method includes disposing an acrylate between the substrates to be bonded together. The interfacial layer preferably has at least one rubber constituent and at least one acrylate therein. The disclosed method is particularly suitable for, but not limited to, bonding an unvulcanized EPDM rubber substrate to an aliphatic type epoxy resin based composite substrate containing fibrous reinforcement elements such as graphite or carbon fibers. Upon disposing the disclosed interfacial layer between the substrates to be bonded, the substrates are preferably co-cured at an elevated temperature to complete the bonding thereof. A preferred bonding compound including at least one rubber constituent, an acrylate constituent, and an optional hydrocarbon solvent for facilitating mixing and applying the compound to form an interfacial layer between the rubber substrate and the epoxy based substrate to be bonded together is also disclosed.
(FR) Cette invention se rapporte à un procédé de liaison d'un substrat de caoutchouc sur un substrat à base de résine époxy, qui est particulièrement approprié pour la fabrication d'éléments sélectionnés de moteurs-fusées, tels que des carters de moteurs. Ce procédé consiste à disposer un acrylate entre les substrats devant être assemblés. La couche interfaciale contient de préférence au moins un constituant caoutchouc et au moins un acrylate. Ce procédé se prête notamment pour l'assemblage d'un substrat de caoutchouc EPDM non vulcanisé et d'un substrat composite à base de résine époxy de type aliphatique contenant des éléments de renforcement fibreux, tels que des fibres de graphite ou de carbone. En disposant la couche interfaciale décrite ci-dessus entre les substrats à assembler, on provoque de préférence un codurcissement de ces substrats à une température élevée qui achève leur assemblage. Cette invention concerne également un composé d'assemblage préféré, contenant au moins un constituant caoutchouc, un constituant acrylate et un solvant à hydrocarbure optionnel servant à faciliter le mélange et l'application dudit composé, en vue de former une couche interfaciale entre le substrat en caoutchouc et le substrat à base d'époxy devant être assemblés.
