Title: ACID COATINGS FACILITATING DEGLUTITION
Abstract:
The invention concerns a method for coating solid medicinal principles or dietetic or food products, designed to be absorbed orally, in single units, without being crunched or munched before swallowing, with a composition comprising one or several weak acids and/or, optionally, one or several of their salts, enabling to apply on the surface of said products a coating containing a sufficient amount of acid for intensely stimulating saliva secretion and consequently greatly facilitating the swallowing of the resulting coated solid elements. The amount of free acid ions input by the coating should be able to salify the alkaline ions contained in an average amount of saliva normally secreted for about one minute stimulated by the acid and to lower significantly the pH of the buccal environment.
