Abstract:
(EN) An apparatus for measuring a time interval between a start signal edge and a stop signal edge provides a stable clock (17) into a logic gate delay line (21). A phase lock controller (22) controls the switching speed fo all gates. The gate output signals and the clock signal form a set of phase distributed clock signals applied to a strat time measurement unit (TMU) (12) and a similar stop TMU (14). Start TMU (12) counts edges of one clock phase occuring between the arming signal and the start signal and outputs time delay data as a whole and fractional number of clock signal periods and identifies the phase following the start signal. The stop TMU (14) does the same with the arming signal and stop signal. The desired interval is the difference between the TMU delay data.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un appareil permettant de mesurer un intervalle de temps entre un flanc de signal de départ et un flanc de signal d'arrêt, fournissant un signal d'horloge stable (17) dans une ligne à retard à porte logique (21). Un contrôleur à verrouillage de phases (22) commande la vitesse de commutation de toutes les portes. Les signaux de sortie de porte et le signal d'horloge forment un ensemble de signaux d'horloge distribués en phase appliqués à une unité de mesure de temps (time measurement unit / TMU) de départ (12) et une TMU d'arrêt (14) similaire. La TMU de départ (12) compte les flancs de signaux d'une phase d'horloge se trouvant entre le signal d'armement et le signal de départ, produit des données de retard sous forme d'un nombre entier et fractionnel de périodes de signal d'horloge et identifie la phase faisant suite au signal de départ. La TMU d'arrêt (14) fait la même chose avec le signal d'armement et le signal d'arrêt. L'intervalle désiré est la différence entre les données de retard TMU.
