(EN)A novel microorganism producing a nontoxic, nonantigenic exopolysaccharide is taught. The exopolysaccharide has neutral sugars migrating at the same rate as mannose, fucose, fructose and galactose, acidic sugars migrating at the same rate as fucose and amine sugars migrating at the same rate as glucose and fucose, and wherein the ratio of galactose: fucose: glucose: mannose is about 1:2:3:6. The microbe and the exopolysaccharide have uses as a biofilm in geologic applications and have several consumer uses as food and drug polymers and use as a plasma extender.
(FR)L'invention concerne un nouveau micro-organisme produisant un exopolysaccharide non toxique non antigénique. L'exopolysaccharide comporte des sucres neutres migrant à la même vitesse que le mannose, le fucose, le fructose et le galactose, des sucres acides migrant à la même vitesse que le fucose et des sucres aminés migrant à la même vitesse que le glucose et le fucose. Le taux galactose: fucose: glucose: mannose est d'environ 1:2:3:6. Le microbe et l'exopolysaccharide peuvent s'utiliser comme un film biologique dans des applications biologiques et possèdent plusieurs domaines d'utilisation dans la consommation, en tant que polymères alimentaires ou médicinaux ou succédanés de plasma.
