Abstract:
(EN) Disclosed are polyester-ether polyols and their use in urethane prepolymers, urethane foams and non-foam urethane coatings, adhesives, sealants and/or elastomers. Methods for producing such polyester-ether polyols are disclosed, along with methods for producing urethane prepolymers. The polyester-ether polyols of the instant invention are preferably the reaction product of phthalic anhydride, diethylene glycol, and propylene oxide. These polyester-ether polyols are useful as either the primary polyol in urethane compositions or in combination with conventional auxiliary polyester- and/or polyether-based polyols. The polyester-ether polyols impart greatly improved solubility and compatibility to mixtures of either polyether and/or polyester polyols. The polyester-ether polyols of the instant invention are desirably of lower viscosity than their precursor intermediate polyester polyols and are generally soluble in either polyester- and/or polyether-based polyols. Additionally, the polyester-ether polyols generally provide improved hydrolytic stability to CASE materials in which they are utilized.
(FR) L'invention concerne des polyols de polyester-éther et leur utilisation dans des prépolymères d'uréthane, des mousses d'uréthane et des revêtements, des adhésifs, des matériaux d'étanchéité et/ou des élastomères (ou CASE pour coating, adhesive, sealant and elastomer) d'uréthane non-mousse. L'invention concerne également des procédés de production de ces polyols de polyester-éther, ainsi que des procédés de production de prépolymères d'uréthane. Les polyols de polyester-éther de la présente invention sont de préférence le produit de réaction de l'anhydride phtalique, du diéthylèneglycol et de l'oxyde de propylène. Ces polyols de polyester-éther sont utilisés comme polyol primaire dans des compositions d'uréthane, ou bien en combinaison avec des polyols auxiliaires classiques à base de polyester et/ou polyéther. Ces polyols de polyester-éther confèrent une solubilité et une compatibilité considérablement accrues aux mélanges de polyols de polyéther et/ou de polyester. Les polyols de polyester-éther de l'invention possèdent de préférence une viscosité inférieure à celle de leurs polyols de polyester précurseurs intermédiaires et ils sont généralement solubles dans des polyols à base de polyester et/ou de polyéther. En outre, ces polyols de polyester-éther apportent généralement une stabilité hydrolytique accrue aux matériaux CASE dans lesquels ils sont utilisés.
