(EN)The present invention relates to a honing method and apparatus which provides greater control over the edge shape, as well as reductions in the effort required to hone multiple edges on workpieces. The invention accomplishes these improvements by controlling the speed of the abrasive brush (20), as well as the orientation and position of the workpiece (22) prior to and/or while it is in contact with the abrasive brush (20). This provides for greater control over the hone shape, hone size, and hone distribution along the cutting edges of the tool.
(FR)Cette invention se rapporte à un procédé et à un appareil d'aiguisage qui permettent un plus grand contrôle de la forme de l'arête tranchante, ainsi qu'une réduction des efforts requis pour aiguiser plusieurs arêtes tranchantes sur des pièces travaillées. Cette invention réalise ces améliorations en commandant la vitesse de la brosse abrasive (20), ainsi que l'orientation et la position de la pièce à travailler (22) avant et/ou pendant que celle-ci est en contact avec la brosse abrasive (20), ce qui permet de mieux contrôler la forme, la taille et la distribution de l'aiguisage le long des arêtes tranchantes de l'outil à travailler.
