(EN)A method is provided for preventing a polymer optical fiber from burnout on its end to which high-energy light is incident. A cooling booth (5) filled with transparent liquid is provided between one end of a fiber (6a) and the corresponding end of an optical system (lenses (2) and (4)) including a light source (1). The transparent liquid cools the end of the fiber (6a) and shields it from the air.
(FR)L'invention concerne un dispositif permettant d'empêcher la fonte de l'extrémité d'une fibre optique polymère lorsqu'une lumière d'intensité élevée frappe sa surface de manière incidente. Une cabine de refroidissement (5) remplie d'un liquide transparent est placée entre une extrémité de ladite fibre (6a) et l'extrémité correspondante d'un système optique (lentilles (2, 4)) comprenant une source lumineuse (1). Le liquide transparent refroidit l'extrémité de la fibre (6a) et la protège de l'air.
