(EN)Novel parathyroid hormone (PTH) polypeptide derivatives are disclosed, as are pharmaceutical compositions containing said polypeptides, and synthetic and recombinant methods for producing said polypeptides. Also disclosed are methods for treating mammalian conditions characterized by decreases in bone mass using therapeutically effective pharmaceutical compositions containing said polypeptides. Also disclosed are methods for screening candidate compounds of the invention for antagonistic or agonistic effects on parathyroid hormone receptor action. Also disclosed are diagnostic and therapeutic methods of said compounds.
(FR)La présente invention concerne, d'une part des dérivés polypeptides de parathormone (PTH), d'autre part des compositions pharmaceutiques à base de ces polypeptides, et aussi des procédés de production de ces polypeptides par synthèse et recombinaison. L'invention concerne également le traitement d'états de mammifères caractérisés par des pertes de masse osseuse, lequel traitement implique l'utilisation de compositions pharmaceutiques thérapeutiquement active à base de ces polypeptides. L'invention concerne aussi des procédés de recherche systématique d'action antagoniste ou agoniste sur le récepteur de la parathormone parmi des candidats composés de l'invention.
