Abstract
(EN) This invention is a multiple access communication technique by which a multitude of transmitters communicate with receivers using direct sequence spread spectrum signaling. The direct sequence codes are reused by a large number of simultaneous transmitters, so the system is named Code Reuse Multiple Access ('CRMA'). This reuse method requires only a small number of codes relative to the number of simultaneous transmitters, and can use as few as one code for all the users. The direct sequence codes are not required to have special properties such as maximal length. The lengths of the spreading codes employed are not necessarily related to the bit or symbol interval (but in general they cover more than one symbol interval). CRMA can be implemented on a Paired Carrier Multiple Access ('PCMA') system with or without a novel receiver structure which is also described.
(FR) L'invention concerne une technique de communication à accès multiple grâce à laquelle une multitude d'émetteurs communiquent avec des récepteurs par signalisation à spectre étalé à séquence directe. Les codes de séquence directe sont réutilisés par un grand nombre d'émetteurs simultanés, c'est pourquoi le système est appelé « accès multiple à réutilisation de codes » (CRMA). Ce procédé de réutilisation ne nécessite qu'un faible nombre de codes relatifs au nombre d'émetteurs simultanés, un seul code pouvant même être utilisé pour tous les utilisateurs. Il n'est pas nécessaire que les codes de séquence directe possèdent des propriétés spéciales, telles qu'une longueur maximale. Les longueurs des codes d'étalement ne sont pas nécessairement rapportées à l'intervalle de bits ou de symboles (mais en général ils couvrent plus d'un intervalle de symboles). CRMA peut être mis en oeuvre sur un système à accès multiple à porteuse couplée (PCMA) avec une structure de récepteurs nouvelle également décrite ou sans celle-ci.
