Abstract:
(EN) The invention concerns a method for making a impact-resistant vinyl aromatic polymer composition comprising a vinyl aromatic polymer matrix enclosing rubber nodules, the nodule size distribution being substantially monomode and each of said nodules having at least a vinyl aromatic matrix occlusion or not having such an occlusion. The method comprises a step which consists in polymerising at least one vinyl aromatic monomer: in the presence of at least a rubber (C) whereof at least 22 % of the chains have a molar mass by weight higher than 700000 g/mol expressed in polystyrene equivalents; in the presence of at least a polymerisation initiator (A) with grafting character; at least a chain transfer agent (TC) may be present, the chain transfer agent(s)/initiator(s) mass ratio being less than 1 in the event that at least a chain transfer agent (TC) is present.
(FR) La présente invention porte sur un procédé de fabrication d'une composition de polymère vinylaromatique choc comprenant une matrice de polymère vinylaromatique entourant des nodules de caoutchouc, la distribution des tailles de nodule étant sensiblement monomodale et chacun desdits nodules présentant au moins une occlusion de polymère vinylaromatique de matrice ou ne présentant pas de telle occlusion. Ce procédé comprend une étape de polymérisation d'au moins un monomère vinylaromatique: en présence d'au moins un caoutchouc (C) dont au moins 22 % des chaînes présentent une masse molaire en poids supérieur à 700 000 g/mole exprimée en équivalents de polystyrène; en présence d'au moins un amorceur de polymérisation (A) à caractère greffant; au moins un agent de transfert de chaîne (TC) pouvant être présent, le rapport en masse agent(s) de transfert de chaîne (TC)/amorceur(s) (A) étant inférieur à 1 dans le cas où au moins un agent de transfert de chaîne (TC) est présent.
