Abstract:
(EN) A method of modifying the thermal conductivity of a base material comprises the step of mixing the base material, at least when the base material is in a mobile state, with diamond particles. Typically the diamond particles are of a particle size lying the range 1 to 100 microns. The method can comprise a mixture of diamond particles which are similar in size or a mixture of particles of relatively large and small sizes. The invention further comprises a base material mixed with diamond particles in sufficient amounts to significantly increase the thermal conductivity of the mixed base material as against the thermal conductivity of the base material. The base material can comprise one or more of a wide range of plastics, metals, alloys, inorganic materials, plasticiser or catalytic material.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé de modification de la conductivité thermique d'un matériau de base. Ce procédé consiste à mélanger ce matériau de base avec des particules de diamant, du moins lorsque ce matériau de base se trouve dans un état mobile. Habituellement, ces particules de diamant présentent une taille particulaire variant entre 1 et 100 microns. Ledit procédé peut comprendre un mélange de particules de diamant de taille similaire ou un mélange de particules de taille relativement grande et petite. L'invention concerne également un matériau de base mélangé avec des particules de diamant en quantité suffisante pour augmenter sensiblement la conductivité thermique dudit matériau de base mélangé, par comparaison avec la conductivité thermique du matériau de base non mélangé. Celui-ci peut comprendre un ou plusieurs métaux ou alliages, des matières inorganiques, un plastifiant ou un matériau catalyseur.
