(EN) A spin-valve magnetoresistance effect head in which the end of a free magnetic layer is insensitive to the external magnetic field and thereby the sensitivity is improved. The spin-valve magnetoresistance effect head has a multilayer structure including, at least on the terminal side, a first antiferromagnetic layer, a soft magnetic layer, an anti-parallel coupling intermediate layer, and a first free magnetic layer.
