Title: THERMOSETTING PLASTICS AS SUBSTRATE MATERIALS FOR OPTICAL SYSTEMS
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the use of a thermosetting plastic as a substrate material in optical systems. The optical system may be e.g. a waveguide system or an electro-optical actuator or a thermo-optical actuator. Preferably the thermosetting plastic is selected from polycyanate resins and polycyanurate resins. It is especially preferred to add a material having higher conductivity to the thermosetting plastic in order to obtain a substrate having an increased thermal conductivity for carrying thermo-optical actuators and the like.
