Abstract:
(EN) The invention relates to polycarbonates comprising: (a) carbonate structural units corresponding to structure (I) where R1, R2, R3, and R4 are independently selected from the group consisting of C1-C6 alkyl, R5 is C1-C3 alkyl and n is 0, 1 or 2, and (b) carbonate structural units corresponding to structure (II) where R6, R7, R10 and R11 are independently C1-C6 alkyl, R8 and R9 are independently H or C1-C5 alkyl, R12 is H or C1-C3 alkyl and n is 0, 1 or 2; where the polycarbonate has a glass transition temperature of from about 120 °C to about 185 °C and a water absorption of less than about 0.33 %. This invention further relates to method of making these polycarbonates, optical articles made from these polycarbonates, and methods of making optical articles from these polycarbonates.
(FR) L'invention concerne des polycarbonates comprenant (a) des motifs structuraux de carbonate correspondant à la structure (I), dans laquelle R1, R2, R3 et R4 sont indépendamment choisis dans le groupe constitué par alkyle C1-C6, R5 est alkyle C1-C3 et n vaut 0, 1 ou 2, et (b) des motifs structuraux de carbonate correspondant à la structure (II), dans laquelle R6, R7, R10 et R11 sont indépendamment alkyle C1-C6, R8 et R9 sont indépendamment H ou alkyle C1-C5, R12 est H ou alkyle C1-C3 et n vaut 0, 1 ou 2, le polycarbonate présentant une température de transition vitreuse variant entre 120 °C et environ 185 °C et une absorption d'eau inférieure à environ 0,33 %. L'invention concerne également un procédé d'élaboration de ces polycarbonates, des articles optiques fabriqués à partir de ces polycarbonates et des procédés de fabrication d'articles optiques à partir de ces polycarbonates.
