Abstract:
(EN) A vehicle wheel brake system (9) for a wheel suspension assembly has an anti-lock braking system ('ABS') to provide a higher resolution brake apply and brake release relative to an ABS system having a single, fixed brake disc. The brake system comprises a mounting hub (14) for a road wheel mounted on the wheel suspension assembly for rotation about a rotational axis. At least two slidable brake discs (38, 41) are mounted to slide axially along the hub between braking and off-brake positions and provide signals when the wheel condition is within preset parameters relative to the speed of the vehicle. A brake actuator system is operable manually and is operable automatically by the ABS controller to operate the caliper and a frequency of brake apply and with release of at least double the frequency of brake apply and release of a fixedsingle brake disc system.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un système de freinage de roue de véhicule (9) destiné à un ensemble de suspension des roues. Ce système de freinage présente un système d'antiblocage de freins (« ABS ») permettant un serrage et un déserrage des freins qui présente une plus haute résolution par rapport à un système d'antiblocage de freins pourvu d'un seul disque de frein fixe. Ledit système de freinage comprend un moyeu de montage (14) destiné à une roue porteuse montée sur l'ensemble de suspension de roues et permettant la rotation autour d'un axe de rotation. Au moins deux disques de frein pouvant glisser (38, 41) sont montés de façon à glisser axialement le long du moyeu, entre les états de freinage et de non freinage. Un étrier comprend un pont fixe et au moins quatre (4) plaquettes de frein (50, 54, 56, 60) montées sur le pont fixe (64), afin de fournir quatre surfaces de freinage pour l'engagement de freinage avec les faces opposés de chacun des disques de frein. Un générateur d'impulsions est monté sur le moyeu afin de générer des impulsions. Un capteur est monté sur l'ensemble de suspension de roues afin de capter des impulsions issues du générateur d'impulsions et afin de produire des signaux par rapport à l'état de rotation de la roue porteuse. Un organe de commande du système d'antiblocage de freins (11) est connecté au capteur et produit des signaux lorsque l'état de la roue se situe dans des paramètres prédéfinis par rapport à la vitesse du véhicule, afin de développer une courbe de décélération théorique pour l'arrêt du véhicule dans une distance prédéterminée. Un système de commande de frein peut être actionné manuellement par le passager du véhicule et peut être actionné automatiquement par l'organe de commande du système d'antiblocage de freins, afin d'actionner l'étrier dans le but de faire glisser axialement le disque de frein et de provoquer le serrage des quatre plaquettes de frein à une pression s'élevant au maximum à environ la moitié de la pression d'actionnement du système de disques de frein fixe et à une fréquence de serrage et de déserrage de frein s'élevant au moins au double de la fréquence de serrage et de déserrage de frein du système de disques de frein fixe.
